Wood artistry for the purist, from one of Barrie's
gifted and award-winning wood-turners is at this stall.
Turned wooden bowls, pen and pencil sets, and much more
are on display. All made from exotic woods, they are
fine-finished and make gifts of distinction for boss,
co workers, family and friends. Custom orders are always
welcome. Tree burls and cankers are always welcome as
most contain unique patterns and colors within. Drop
by and see James and his work, or just talk about woodturning
as art. |
Classes of Vendors and How to Become a Vendor
There are three classes of vendor:
- Grower / Producer
- Baker
- Artisan/Crafter.
If you are a grower of vegetables, fruit, plants, herbs,
a producer of eggs or dairy product, grain, flour, or a breeder
of livestock, poultry or fish, there is a good chance we have
a stall for you.
The Barrie Farmers' Market works on a system of ratios based
on the number of growers/producers. The more growers/producers,
the more baked goods and crafts vendors are permitted.
The Barrie Farmers' Market is open to vendors who live or
operate their business in Simcoe County. A few exceptions
are permitted on a case by case basis to offer customers Ontario
grown vegetables, fruit and other produce that cannot be grown
in the County.
The Application Process
Vendors wishing to apply may contact the market manager by
email or in person during market hours on Saturday to obtain
an application form. Once the market manager has received
your completed application, the board of directors will take
it under review for approval.
Visiting Non-Profit Vendors Are Also Welcome
Registered non-profit and charitable organizations wishing
to set up a booth at the BFM may apply to the market manager
with a requested date. There is limited availability and organizations
are asked to inquire at least two weeks in advance with a
description of what will be promoted or sold. Once approved,
you will need to bring the following for your stall: folding
table, chair, banner with your name or the name of your organization
(and if outdoors: umbrella, tarpaulin or pavilion tent for
weather protection and a rain coat).
Please note: The Barrie Farmers’ Market is currently
at capacity in the food/baker and artist/artisan/crafter categories,
and we are not accepting applications at this time. Thanks
for your interest in BFM.
