Our goal is to provide all our friends and customers with the grades of maple syrup they desire in a wide range of containers for everyday use at home, gift giving, or resale. Always available is our special "One litre in a really UGLY bottle"

Visit us year round, every saturday morning at Barrie Farmers Market and Orillia Farmers Market. Both located downtown at their city hall's. Both open 8:00 AM until Noon. Every Sunday at Midland Farmers Market, June until Thanksgiving, downtown waterfront, Open 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

We attend Farmers Markets in the City Of Toronto, but not on a regular schedule. Please call us for dates and market locations. Every spring for 45 years Carter Farms has attended the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival rain, snow, sleet, or sunshine. Likewise every October the weekend after Thanksgiving we spend three great days at the Bala Cranberry Festival. Since the spring of 2009 we accept debit payment at Barrie Farmers Market, Midland Farmers Market, our downtown Bala Cranberry location, The Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival and any Toronto Farmers Markets.

In 1905, My great grandfather purchased the farm I live on. Luckily it had a maple bush preserved from logging because it was close to the farm buildings. All our current bush lots were purchased between 1905 and 1933 from logging companies after they had been been harvested. As a point of interest all our syrup production occurs on the Ardtrea Island ANSI (Area of Natural and Special Interest) as identified by the Provincial government. We also own land in the North River Swamp, recently named a Provincially Significant Wetland. As one of the largest ANSI's in Simcoe County, the Carters are also the largest single landowners of the Ardtrea Island.

In the near future we will be adding high pressure steam as a heat source for boiling maple sap. We believe this will enhance our consistency while greatly reducing the labour of stoking a wood fired evaporator, leaving us more time for the finer points of syrup making.

We always provide syrup samples at our markets and we hope to have you enjoying some this year.
